It was organized in conjunction with the museum’s exhibition “Georg Baselitz,” allowing visitors to enjoy art and music together in their daily lives.
A total of five groups took part in the concert. The lineup began on October 14 with a duo performance by guitarist Kim Suyu and harmonica player Lee Hangyeol, followed by the Kim Yujin Trio, the six-member jazz band ZIP4 (Jipsa), saxophonist Kim Oki, and the Moon Mihyang Trio.
On October 18, the final day, the Moon Mihyang Trio, led by jazz vocalist Moon Mihyang, performed in the lobby of the Heungkuk Life Insurance Building. Hundreds of people visiting the museum and movie theater over the weekend watched the performance.
The concert was organized around the shared qualities of Georg Baselitz’s body of work, which broke with the conventions of traditional painting by depicting subjects upside down, and jazz, which developed outside traditional musical forms.
The Sehwa Museum of Art’s exhibition “Georg Baselitz” runs through December 27. The museum also offers a range of cultural and arts programs, including concerts and film screenings connected to its exhibitions.
