Its distinguishing feature is that the results of the activity are documented, rather than simply collecting litter.
Under the agreement, the district will run a pilot project organized by the Guro District Volunteer Center. It will recruit residents and volunteers who wish to participate twice a month, with activities taking place in major residential areas and locations in the district that require environmental cleanup. Participants will first receive training on how to take part and enter collection data, then pick up litter and record related information on site.
The district plans to track the number of activities, the number of participants, and information about the waste collected, and to incorporate participants’ feedback into the project. It will provide information on how to participate through neighborhood community centers, volunteer camps, and local organizations, and share exemplary cases as well.
