The meeting was arranged to secure a stable energy supply for major research and industrial facilities while easing the energy cost burden on residents in areas underserved by city gas.
Mayor Park emphasized that a city gas supply network should be built from the early stages of the project so that research facilities and tenant companies in the Docheok-myeon Convergence Cooperation District can operate without disruption.
In particular, he asked the corporation to actively consider ways to expand service to areas where supplying city gas is difficult because of topographical conditions and economic feasibility concerns.
Gwangju City plans to continue consultations with relevant institutions and city gas providers to secure an energy supply for major development projects and expand service to areas without city gas.
Through these efforts, the city plans to create stable conditions for companies to move in while also improving residents' energy welfare and living environment.
Mayor Park said, "The Docheok-myeon Convergence Cooperation District is an important project for securing Gwangju City's future growth engine. It is important to establish an energy supply infrastructure so that research facilities and tenant companies can operate reliably."
