The signing ceremony was attended by key executives from both companies, including Kim Youngki, CEO of HD Hyundai Electric, and Hyun Shingyun, CEO of LG CNS.
The agreement aims to combine HD Hyundai Electric's expertise in designing and manufacturing ultra-high-voltage power equipment and power distribution systems with LG CNS's capabilities in data center design, construction, and operation, as well as digital technologies. The two companies plan to jointly gain an early foothold in the rapidly growing data center power grid and smart manufacturing markets.
The companies will establish a system to supply power and distribution equipment as a package for the AI data center market, and jointly conduct marketing and propose projects in domestic and overseas power infrastructure markets. In addition, they will integrate LG CNS's AI, cloud, and data analytics technologies with HD Hyundai Electric's power monitoring platform to optimize data center power use and significantly improve operational efficiency.
In smart manufacturing, HD Hyundai Electric's on-site data will be connected to LG CNS's manufacturing AI, logistics, and process automation systems. Following technology exchanges and pilot projects, the companies plan to increase production and logistics automation at HD Hyundai Electric's Cheongju Distribution Campus and build an integrated equipment monitoring system. They also plan to expand the proven, data-driven smart manufacturing standard model to overseas production sites, including those in the United States, with the goal of achieving global production standardization.
CEO Kim Youngki said, "This agreement will create new business opportunities by combining power infrastructure with digital technologies. Through our collaboration with LG CNS, we will improve the operational efficiency of data center power infrastructure and expand business cooperation to secure future growth drivers."
