Man Beats a 6-Meter Giant Snake for No "Reason"... "Isn't That Animal Abuse?" Reactions Turn Cold
U.S. influencer Michael Holston, with 17 million followers
Under fire after posting video of himself fighting a wild animal
A well-known American influencer has sparked controversy after posting a video of himself fighting a 6-meter-long python bare-handed. Internet users overseas have criticized him, saying he mistreated an innocent wild animal.
According to Fox News and other outlets on October 14 (local time), well-known influencer Michael Holston recently posted a video of himself wrestling a giant 6-meter-long python.
Holston has more than 17 million followers on social media platforms such as Instagram and goes by the nickname "The Real Tarzan." True to the name Tarzan, he mainly posts content about surviving in the wild and wild animals.
In the photos posted, Holston can be seen wrestling with the snake, their bodies entwined. Even as they struggle for strength, he appears relaxed, joking to the cameraman, "I'm fine now, but I don't think I'll be fine for much longer." When the snake lunges its head toward him, Holston grabs it and says, "This is the toughest fight I've ever had."
At the end of the fight, Holston flipped the snake onto its back and subdued it. Saying he had nearly suffocated, Holston breathed a sigh of relief and said, "This is the first time I've ever been in this much danger."
However, after the video spread, internet users responded with criticism rather than praise. One user pointed out, "He harassed a snake for no reason just to post a video online." Some users accused him of animal abuse, but reports say Holston has never been officially investigated for related allegations.
Fox News also raised questions, saying, "Holston managed to get away from the snake, but his blue belt in jiu-jitsu would be nothing compared with the snake's strength." It added, "It's hard to know how he would have escaped if he hadn't been able to flip the snake and had started losing the fight. Were there security guards or other armed people nearby?"
