In desserts, skill is judged not only by taste but also by how the creations are presented on the plate.
The highest honor, the Busan Mayor's Award Grand Prize, went to first-year student Lee Subin. She impressed the judges with a harmonious presentation featuring mango pavlova, hazelnut tart and tiramisu.
Yun Taeeun, from the same department, received the top excellence award, the Busan Metropolitan Council Chairperson's Award, while Son Jabin won the excellence award, the Busan Regional Office of Food and Drug Safety Commissioner's Award. Third-year student Kwon Nayun received the encouragement award, the National Assembly Member's Award. With 23 teams taking part, four students from a single university received major institutional awards.
The achievement came in the field of plating, where students must demonstrate not only dessert-making skills but also visual refinement, including harmony of ingredients and colors and plate composition.
