A festival where visitors can experience traditional crafts from around the world in one place is set to take place in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province. The event will feature a diverse program, from exhibitions of works by Korean and international craft masters to performances by popular singers.
Anseong City announced on October 15 that it will hold the 2026 Anseong Culture Market Glocal Craft Festival for three days, from October 16 to 18, along the Anseongcheon Riverside and around 6070 Nostalgia Street.
The festival aims to showcase Anseong's traditional crafts alongside craft cultures from around the world and offer residents and tourists a variety of cultural experiences. It will also highlight the value of the local craft industry while focusing on revitalizing businesses in the old downtown area.
The festival's main attraction will be works created through collaborations among Korean and international craft masters. These works, made by Anseong craft masters and their counterparts from overseas using traditional techniques, will showcase the appeal of crafts that bring different cultures together.
Visitors will also be introduced to traditional crafts from around the world, including damascening, a traditional metal inlay craft from Toledo, Spain, and Talavera pottery, which is inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
Music performances will light up the autumn nights. Singer Lee Seok-hoon will take the stage on October 16, the first day of the festival, followed by Lee Hyun on October 17 and Jeon Sang-geun on October 18.
Across the festival grounds, visitors will also be able to take part in programs such as craft exhibitions and sales, hands-on craft activities, and guided exhibition tours.
The city plans to connect the festival site along the Anseongcheon Riverside and 6070 Nostalgia Street with nearby shopping streets, encouraging visitors to explore different parts of the old downtown area.
