Hanpass Revamps App into Super App for Foreign Nationals' Daily Life and Finance, Beyond Remittances
Hanpass, a financial platform company for foreign nationals in Korea, announced on the 15th that it has completely revamped its mobile services and is transforming the app into a “super app” exclusively for foreign nationals.
About 30 companies in Korea hold licenses for small-amount overseas remittance services. Hanpass has built its business by emphasizing competitive pricing and convenience.
With this revamp, Hanpass plans to strengthen its brand identity as a “super app exclusively for foreign nationals” and expand into a comprehensive lifestyle platform covering all aspects of life in Korea. The Hanpass app is built around two pillars: financial services and services for everyday life.
Its financial services have been enhanced to include overseas and domestic remittances, as well as a mobile wallet and Hanpass card services. In collaboration with its affiliates and financial institutions, the company will also introduce financial services tailored to foreign nationals residing in Korea, including “credit loans exclusively for foreign nationals.”
Services for everyday life include transportation conveniences such as taxi-hailing, intercity bus and KTX bookings, and transit card top-ups. The app will also offer a “job matching service exclusively for foreign nationals” that connects foreign residents with companies, as well as a “groceries shopping service” where users can buy ingredients from their home countries. All services are available in more than 20 languages.
In addition to the revamp, the company plans to prepare proactively for the stablecoin era and introduce specialized foreign exchange services for Korean nationals as well as foreign customers.
