K-Fashion Blending Film and Fashion Takes the Paris Stage
Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, KOCCA present Concept Korea 2027 S/S
Bonbom and Asparagus collections unveiled at Palais de Tokyo
A K-fashion showcase combining fashion films and a runway show took place in Paris, France. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency said on October 15 that they had held "Concept Korea 2027 S/S" on October 1 at Palais de Tokyo, a contemporary art museum, and unveiled collections by designer brands Bonbom and Asparagus.
Concept Korea is a program that supports the global market expansion of outstanding Korean designer brands. This season, a fashion film titled "How to Take a Walk," reinterpreting the worlds of the two brands, was presented ahead of the show. Starring actor Kim Minha and model Hong Taejun, the film brought the season's concept to life like a feature film through mise-en-scene and narrative, under the direction of Lee Okseop.
Julien Lambea, a journalist for Global magazine, said, "The outstanding direction and energy characteristic of Korean films stand out. The film shines a new and original light on the collections by Bonbom and Asparagus."
In the runway show that followed, Bonbom, designed by Jo Bonbom, presented a philosophy of combining contrasting elements into a single form. Its signature design featured pleats applied to straps, while loosely woven knit fabrics expressed the tension created by contrasting sensibilities.
Asparagus, designed by Lee Myeongje, focused on the unstable beauty of moments when opposing elements, such as masculinity and femininity, or protection and exposure, collide. Deconstructive forms, asymmetrical structures, and experimental details coexisted in the collection.

Eom Yunsang, head of the Content IP Promotion Division at the Korea Creative Content Agency, said, "It was a meaningful event that demonstrated the individuality and strength of Korean designer brands to the global fashion industry through a fresh approach combining fashion and film. We will continue to provide full support to help outstanding Korean designers establish themselves successfully in the global fashion market and generate tangible business results."
