Hanwha General Insurance to Host Urban Wellness Festival 'Wellness Cruise Hannam'
Taking place at Hannam headquarters Oct. 21-25... Free admission
Exercise, food, relaxation and DJ performances... Expanding everyday wellness experiences
Hanwha General Insurance announced on October 15 that it will hold “Wellness Cruise Hannam,” an urban wellness culture festival, for five days from October 21 to 25 at its headquarters in Hannam-dong, Seoul.
Wellness Cruise Hannam is the first wellness culture project launched by Hanwha General Insurance. Based on the company’s mission to be “a leading partner in advancing customer wellness,” the event was designed to help people experience a healthy life by caring for their bodies and minds, relationships, and daily routines.
The event’s name draws inspiration from cruise travel, where enjoying the journey is as important as reaching the destination. It embodies the idea of taking a brief break from busy daily life to get moving, try new foods, relax, and discover a personal approach to wellness.
More than 30 brands will take part, including PLUS CLOVR, a wellness brand for women during pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing, launched by PLUS, the joint brand of Hanwha Financial Group. Twelve themed spaces centered on exercise, food, and relaxation will be set up throughout the Hannam headquarters, offering a range of experiential programs that incorporate art, local food culture, and music.
At Yaechajim (GYM), which combines art and exercise, visitors can try out distinctive exercise equipment. The Yaechajim series, commissioned from artist duo BBK’s Jang Jongwan and Jang Junho, transforms exercise equipment into works of art, offering visitors an unusual experience of getting active themselves.
Programs exploring food and food culture are also planned. Ipmal Eumsik, which researches and documents foods and ingredients from across the country, will introduce regional celebratory dishes and seasonal ingredients, and run classes where participants can learn about and sample food cultures from different areas, including Andong in North Gyeongsang Province, Gangwon Province, and Hamgyeong Province.
The cafe and bar will offer distinctive food and drinks. Specialty coffee brand PERLEN will run a nonalcoholic bar where guests can enjoy the flavors and atmosphere of alcoholic drinks through coffee and tea. At the cafe, visitors can sample SANS’s coffee alternative and Jeongnammi Myeonggwa’s baked goods made with famine-relief crops.
Spaces for relaxation are also planned. The ondol-style sauna by SASASA offers a warm retreat. In a space spanning approximately 200 pyeong, visitors can take time to focus fully on themselves through “ceiling service” and a meditation program featuring ambient sound, lighting, and scents. Ambient sound refers to everyday sounds that help promote relaxation.
An unusual space where visitors can discover their own wellness tendencies is also attracting attention. Decorated with a casino concept, it lets visitors play a wellness-type test developed by Hanwha General Insurance’s Femtech Research Institute and explore their lifestyles and personal tendencies.
Special programs featuring experts and artists from various fields will run throughout the event. Electronic musician Cifika will perform as a DJ on October 23 and 24, while four speakers will give talks on life balance and everyday energy on October 24 and 25.
The event will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is free to attend without a ticket. Some activities and classes require payment or advance reservations. Details on the program schedule and how to register are available on the official website.
