Samsung Electronics is accelerating its push into the ASEAN market with AI home appliances and air-conditioning systems optimized for Vietnamese housing styles and climate conditions.
Samsung Electronics said on October 15 that it had held "The Brief," a home appliance technology seminar for Southeast Asia, the previous day at its Business Experience Studio (BES) in PVI Tower in Hanoi.

Media representatives and influencers from major Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore, gathered to watch technology demonstrations at the event.
The event focused on AI home technologies that detect users' indoor behavior and optimize device operation. In the kitchen, Samsung introduced its AI Vision technology, which uses camera sensors to monitor food storage. The system worked alongside FoodNote, which builds a database of items placed in and removed from refrigerator shelves, notifies users when it is time to repurchase them and analyzes weekly consumption patterns, as well as the "What's for Today?" feature, which recommends recipes based on remaining ingredients. For after-sales support, Samsung presented its Home Appliance Remote Management (HRM) system, through which remote specialists use device sensor data to identify the cause of malfunctions and recommend solutions, as well as its policy of providing seven years of free software updates for models equipped with Wi-Fi.
Samsung also showcased heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems tailored to different types of spaces and designed for the local tropical climate. For homes, it displayed the Bespoke AI WindFree Combo Pro wall-mounted air conditioner, equipped with a motion radar sensor that detects occupants' locations and activity levels, and motion blades that control airflow direction in separate zones. For large buildings, the B2B lineup included the high-efficiency DVM S2 outdoor unit and WindFree 1-way and 4-way ceiling cassette indoor units. Samsung also demonstrated SmartThings Pro, a business platform that enables centralized control from a single screen of cooling devices, Internet of Things (IoT) equipment status and power consumption across multiple locations.
SmartThings Pro is a software solution that enables corporate customers with multiple business locations to centrally monitor in real time the energy use of distributed electrical devices and HVAC systems.
