Kakao Pay Launches MyData-Based 'Post-Purchase Membership Points' Service... First Partner CU
Points Missed at Payment Can Be Earned Later
Kakao Pay said on Oct. 14 that it had launched a “post-purchase membership points” service that lets users earn points after a transaction, even if they did not collect them at the time of payment, based on payment records linked to MyData.
Its first partner is convenience store chain CU.
Users who have linked MyData can earn CU membership points later as long as their transaction records are available, even if they paid at a CU store with a credit or debit card or another company’s payment method instead of Kakao Pay Money.
Users will receive a notification via KakaoTalk if points from a partner company are available to collect.
After signing up for Kakao Pay MyData, users can access the service by linking CU membership in the Membership tab of the Kakao Pay app or Kakao Pay Home in KakaoTalk.
