At a press briefing in Yeouido, Seoul, on October 14, Ives said, "The KOSPI has recently undergone an excessive correction, particularly in memory semiconductor stocks. This is due to investor anxiety. Given hyperscalers' future investment plans and potential business expansion, memory semiconductors will rebound." He forecast, "Along with a rebound in memory semiconductor stocks, the KOSPI will reclaim its previous peak within the next 6 to 12 months."
Ives explained the recent net selling of Korean stocks by foreign investors, saying, "The shortage of memory semiconductors will continue until early 2029. Global investors do not fully understand the scale of investment in memory semiconductors or the size of the market." He stressed, "Just four years ago, small U.S. financial firms didn't even know what the KOSPI was. Now even taxi drivers in New York talk about it. As the artificial intelligence (AI) industry develops, not only Korean hardware companies but also software companies will be able to expand into global markets."
He said China's pursuit of memory semiconductors was not a cause for concern either. "Samsung Electronics and SK hynix are more than three years ahead of ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) in terms of technology," he said, adding that "major Korean semiconductor stocks, including Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, are undervalued relative to their earnings." He argued, "If share prices continue to fall because of China-related noise, that would instead be a buying opportunity." He added, "I included SK hynix among this year's promising technology stocks," and said, "Global investors do not fully recognize the scale and growth potential of memory companies such as SK hynix, Micron and Samsung Electronics."

He praised Nvidia as a key semiconductor supplier leading the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution. He said Microsoft was in the strongest position among hyperscalers, or providers of massive cloud services, that operate large-scale data centers.
He forecast that Palantier's market capitalization would exceed $1 trillion in the future. He named Apple as a company that would play a key role in helping ordinary consumers experience the AI revolution firsthand, and set a price target of $400 for its shares. In cybersecurity, he selected CrowdStrike as a promising stock. "I expect technology stocks to rise more than 30% over the next few years," he said. "The AI revolution is not even 15% of the way along, so it cannot be called a bubble."
