"Woojin's Earnings Expected to Improve on Strength in Nuclear Power Business and Semiconductor Sensors"
Woojin's fourth-quarter 2026 results are expected to improve significantly, buoyed by strong performance in its semiconductor temperature sensor business and an increase in orders to replace instruments at nuclear power plants.
On October 14, Kim Do-yeop, an analyst at Yuanta Securities, said, "Strong performance in the semiconductor temperature sensor business for Samsung Electronics continued in the first half of this year, as did solid results at subsidiary Woojin Ntec." He forecast that "third-quarter revenue from the temperature sensor and instrumentation businesses will rise 6.1% from the previous quarter to 27.1 billion won, while operating profit will reach 2.9 billion won."
In the temperature sensor business, high-margin products for semiconductors are estimated to account for more than 60% of the product mix. The plant business is also recovering faster than expected at the start of the year, supported by increased production at POSCO. Analysts said that further revenue growth could enable the business to break even for the year.
The nuclear power business is expected to improve significantly starting in the fourth quarter of this year. Revenue from the nuclear power business for the first three quarters of this year is estimated at 20.9 billion won, down 35.7% year on year, but analysts say there is little chance that deliveries scheduled under contracts will be pushed back to next year.
