Jang Donghyeok, leader of the People Power Party, said on October 14, "Questions are beginning to arise about how we should ensure that the wealth created by artificial intelligence (AI) and the wealth of society and the nation as a whole are distributed fairly among all citizens," adding, "If we do not start preparing now, we will not be able to properly prepare for the AI era."

This was the academy's second session, following the first, held on September 30 with AI as its theme.
"Last time, the discussion was mainly about the current state of AI technology," Jang said, explaining, "After listening to that lecture, I had other questions as a politician." He added, "I considered what politics should prepare for as technology advances through AI and our lives change, and what our politics should prepare for in response to the threats posed by advances in AI technology."
"I wanted to think more about what social changes AI technology will bring and, in particular, how politics should prepare, so we are holding another academy on AI today," Jang said. "If we hold academies like this and put our heads together, we can also find solutions to these problems." He added, "Politics must work tirelessly to find those answers one step ahead, for the benefit of all citizens."
