Parata Air is rapidly expanding its passenger aircraft fleet and stepping up efforts to grow its international network.
Parata Air said on October 14 that it had finalized a contract to introduce an Airbus A320-200 as its sixth aircraft.
The aircraft is registered as HL8788. After being brought into South Korea, it will undergo interior modifications, maintenance, and approval procedures with the relevant authorities before entering service. With the addition of its sixth aircraft, Parata Air's fleet will grow to six planes: three A320-200s and three A330-200s. The company has expanded its fleet to six aircraft in about a year since beginning commercial operations in September 2025. The newly acquired A320-200 will primarily serve domestic routes and short- and medium-haul routes to destinations including Japan and China.
Building on its fleet expansion, Parata Air is stepping up its push into the Chinese market. On November 9, 2026, it will launch its first scheduled route to China, operating four times a week between Incheon and Shenzhen. The route will be served by an A330-200, a medium-to-large aircraft with 18 business-class seats. In December 2026, the airline plans to launch a new Yangyang-Shanghai route using an A320-200 and resume scheduled international flights from Yangyang International Airport. It also plans to expand capacity in line with market conditions, drawing on traffic rights for major Chinese routes, including Incheon-Shanghai and Incheon-Hangzhou, recently allocated by the Aviation Transportation Deliberation Committee.
The airline is also preparing to enter the long-haul North American market. Parata Air is working through the approval process with the goal of launching an Incheon-Los Angeles (LA) route in the first half of 2027. It recently established a local branch in LA to lay the groundwork for flight operations and sales.
