Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province has wrapped up its autumn tourism programs held to mark the "2026 Year of Visiting Geochang" and will launch a follow-up program in November that uses visits to tourist attractions as the basis for a stamp-collection challenge.
The county said a total of 471 people took part in "Geochang Half-Price Camping" and the "Geochanghan Dalbit Healing Trip," held from September through October at local campgrounds and in the Suseungdae area.

"Geochang Half-Price Camping" ran for about four weeks, from September 18 to October 11, with a total of 270 people in 90 groups taking part.
The county offered participating tourists a refund in local currency equal to 50% of their campground fees and spending in the area, up to 100,000 won.
The program aimed to support the local economy by linking tourists' campground stays with spending at local restaurants, shops and other businesses.
The "Geochanghan Dalbit Healing Trip," held in the Suseungdae area, ran twice in September and October and attracted a total of 201 participants.
The program featured activities that allowed participants to relax and enjoy experiences in nature, including a silent cinema, moonlit walks, morning-sun yoga and tea meditation.
The moonlit walks, which made use of Suseungdae's nighttime scenery, offered participants the chance to experience the lighting and the sound of water in the valley. The tea meditation and yoga sessions were designed to give participants time to relax.
According to the county, some participants expressed satisfaction with the moonlit walks and meditation activities and asked the county to offer them more often and on a regular basis.
"Walking through Suseungdae under the moonlight let me see a different side of the scenery from what I see during the day, and tea meditation and yoga gave me some time to unwind," one participant said. "I would like to take part again if the program is offered again."
Based on the results of the programs, Geochang County plans to improve its nighttime tourism content by drawing on Suseungdae's natural environment.
The county is also considering ways to incorporate elements of astronomy tourism, such as stargazing, into its existing walking- and meditation-focused programs.
The county aims to link visits focused on daytime tourism with nighttime activities and overnight stays, and to explore ways to extend tourists' stays in the area.
As a follow-up to its autumn tourism programs, the county also plans to launch "Golden Apple Stamp Tour Season 2" in November.
The follow-up to the stamp tour held in January will offer souvenirs and packages of processed apple products based on the number of stamps tourists collect after visiting major attractions in Geochang.
The county plans to design the program to encourage tourists to visit multiple attractions rather than stay at just one.
In particular, the county intends to link apples, one of Geochang's signature agricultural products, with tourism souvenirs to also boost the profile of local agricultural products.
Details on the stamp tour's operating period, participating attractions and criteria for receiving souvenirs will be announced later.
"Through these autumn tourism programs, we offered a range of experiences linking camping with nighttime tourism at Suseungdae," a county official said. "We will continue to develop programs that make use of local tourism resources and find ways to extend tourists' stays."
The county plans to review participation figures and feedback gathered during the programs and use the findings to improve future tourism content.
As Geochang County sought to attract tourists and increase local spending through half-price camping and a nighttime healing trip at Suseungdae, assessing the programs' effectiveness will require analysis not only of participant numbers but also of actual local spending and the impact on overnight stays.
