Cinema by Brand is a film production project co-developed by advertising agency Innocean and ACFM. It connects companies with filmmakers to bring the values and philosophy pursued by a brand to life through film.
Hanwha presented specific plans for the project at a special session held on October 12 at BEXCO in Busan. Given its business structure, with a large share of its operations in business-to-business (B2B) sectors such as defense and energy, the project aims to raise brand awareness through film, a form of content that appeals to a broad audience.
Space-based solar power is the central theme of the films. Set in a future where energy generated from solar power in space is put to use, they will tell stories about human life and sustainability.
Three works were selected for the project following a review by film industry experts: Solar Poet, directed by Edmund Yeo; Dalnoeul, directed by Hong Eui-jeong; and The New Mission, directed by Lee Jin-ho. Hanwha plans to produce the films in 2027 and present them to audiences in Korea and abroad.

Park Jiyoung, vice president of the Hanwha Communications Committee, said, "We hope the films will entertain and move audiences in their own right, and that those who watch them will connect with Hanwha's vision for space-based solar power technology and a sustainable future. We also hope this will become a good example of a company and creators expanding each other's horizons."
