Hanul Semiconductor Unveils Post-Process Equipment Vision for AI Server MLCCs in Promotional Video
Hanul Semiconductor said on the 13th that it had released a corporate promotional video on its website and outlined a strategy to expand its post-process equipment business in response to rising demand for high-performance multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) used in AI servers.

The global MLCC market is expected to grow at an annual average rate of 7.9%, from $15 billion last year to $21.9 billion in 2030. The number of MLCCs mounted on each AI server board is also expected to increase about 1.8-fold, from 6,500 to 12,000.
Hanul Semiconductor said it had established the only full lineup of post-process equipment in Korea covering MLCC appearance inspection, ultrasonic inspection, composite measurement, and precision mounting. The company is strengthening its capabilities in high-speed inspection and the management of minute defects, such as internal delamination, cracks, and stacking abnormalities, to address expanded production capacity and stricter quality standards.
Its AI-based high-speed six-sided appearance inspection system uses six cameras to capture every side of a chip. After an AI algorithm identifies cracks, chipping, electrode defects, and other issues, the system automatically sorts good and defective products using an air-blow method. For the 0603 size, it can inspect more than 13,000 units per minute with 98% defect detection accuracy. The company is improving its performance with the goal of reaching 15,000 units per minute within the year.
The video also showcases the successful localization of ultrasonic nondestructive inspection equipment for MLCCs, a market previously dominated by Japanese companies. The equipment uses ultrasound to detect internal delamination and cracks without damaging the product, and increases inspection speed by arranging ultrasonic modules in parallel.
The video also introduces "Hawaii GateLink," a next-generation inspection solution that connects inspection equipment with an AI decision system and controls the removal of defective products based on inspection results. The company plans to add predictive maintenance capabilities to AI inspection and expand the solution's application across MLCC process equipment.
