Crown Haitai Confectionery announced on October 13 that it had successfully concluded Changsinje, the largest traditional Korean music performance in Korea, and a special performance for young aspiring traditional musicians.
Now in its 21st year, Changsinje is a traditional Korean music performance hosted annually by Crown Haitai Confectionery. It is a large-scale stage created to preserve the original forms of traditional music and promote its future development. Its theme is Beopgochangsin, which means preserving tradition while pursuing new values.

The theme was “Sujecheon,” which began as the 1,500-year-old Baekje song “Jeongeupsa,” developed into court music, and is considered one of the finest examples of traditional Korean music. Changsinje has featured Sujecheon for five consecutive years, seeking to create a new future for traditional Korean music by preserving its original form and reinterpreting it with a contemporary sensibility.
The first three performances traced the music's evolution from the Baekje period to the present. Since 2025, the show has been staged as a multidimensional performance that builds on the original instrumental form of Sujecheon and presents it anew through a variety of songs and dances. This year, drawing on the fact that Sujecheon was performed as accompaniment for court dances, the production debuted “Obangjeongjae,” a newly created dance piece that harmoniously combines Ilmu, Cheoyongmu, and Chunaengjeon into a dynamic group dance of a new dimension. The opening also featured 100 Crown Haitai Confectionery employees singing the lyrics of “Jeongeupsa” in a grand chorus.
On October 11, the “Youngjae Haneumhoe Changsinje Special Performance” was also held. The performers were young prodigies who had won awards at the “Gather! Haneum Dream Tree Competition,” held annually by Crown Haitai Confectionery to discover the future stars of traditional Korean music. They earned applause from the audience by showcasing the skills they had honed at the Youngjae Haneumhoe, held every Sunday at Crown Haitai Hall in Namsangol Hanok Village.
