SC Capital Partners Invests in Pohang AI Data Center Development Project
40-MW Scale
Singapore-based real estate private equity firm SC Capital Partners said it has invested in a 40-MW artificial intelligence (AI) data center development project in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province. The investment is being made alongside domestic AI infrastructure company Neo AI Cloud.
The data center, which is being developed with a target completion date of the end of 2027, is a high-density, purpose-built facility designed to accommodate AI workloads. It will feature liquid-cooling infrastructure capable of supporting next-generation graphics processing units (GPUs), including NVIDIA Vera Rubin, and a total power intake capacity of 40 MW. The project has received power approval and a building permit, and construction is now underway. SC Capital Partners said it had secured an anchor tenant early, and that other tenants have also expressed interest in the remaining capacity. A second follow-on project is planned at a scale of 260 MW.
Suchad Chiaranussati, founder and chairman of SC Capital Partners, said, "We are pleased to have successfully completed this investment. It builds on our strategy of steadily expanding our digital infrastructure investments across the Asia-Pacific region." He added, "With a solid business foundation, this project is well positioned to meet the changing demands of the digital economy."
