Korea Securities Depository Launches 'Focused Campaign to Help Shareholders Recover Unclaimed Stocks'
The Korea Securities Depository is launching a focused campaign to help shareholders recover unclaimed stocks.
According to the Korea Securities Depository on October 12, the “2026 Focused Campaign to Help Shareholders Recover Unclaimed Stocks” will run through November 6. The campaign is a public-interest initiative that helps shareholders recover stocks and dividends they have not claimed, broadening their opportunities to exercise their property rights and resolving issues involving unclaimed assets. Since 2009, the annual campaign has returned a total of 1.11218 trillion won in unclaimed stocks and related funds to shareholders.
This year, the Depository also mailed campaign notices to individual shareholders whose actual residential addresses were confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. It is also running a joint campaign with Meritz Financial Group, Amorepacific Holdings and Amorepacific, which are actively pursuing shareholder returns and enhancing shareholder value. The Depository and the participating companies will help shareholders look up and apply to claim their assets, and will work together to ensure that efforts to return value to shareholders lead to the recovery of their assets.
Shareholders can look up unclaimed stocks and apply to claim them through “Find My Stocks” on the securities agency website. They can look up and apply regardless of whether they received a notice. Individual shareholders can apply remotely via mobile to claim stocks valued at 5 million won or less and funds of 1 million won or less. In-person applications can be made at the Korea Securities Depository’s Seoul headquarters or regional customer service centers. Individual shareholders must bring identification and a securities account in their name. Holders of physical stock certificates must bring the certificates when visiting. Those applying on someone else’s behalf or handling inheritance matters can inquire in advance about the required documents.
