Completed Verification Based on International Standard ISO 14067
Secured Reliable Carbon Emissions Calculations for Each Product
Responding to Global Customers' Supply Chain Management Requirements

L&F has strengthened its ability to respond to global environmental regulations by completing an international standards verification of its system for calculating the carbon emissions of its cathode material products.

L&F said on October 12 that it had received a verification statement for the product carbon footprints (PCFs) of its cathode material products, based on the international standard ISO 14067, from global verification body LRQA at its headquarters in Daegu on October 7.

A product carbon footprint is a metric that calculates greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout a product's life cycle, from raw material procurement to production and waste disposal. ISO 14067 is an international standard for measuring and reporting product carbon footprints.

Through this verification, L&F secured objectivity and reliability for the carbon emissions calculation data for each of its cathode material products. The move is intended to address supply-chain carbon emissions management requirements from automakers and battery manufacturers amid increasingly stringent global environmental regulations, including the European Union's (EU) battery regulations.

The verification is also linked to the results of L&F's calculations and verification of indirect greenhouse gas emissions across its supply chain (Scope 3), disclosed in its 2025 Sustainability Report published this year. Going forward, L&F plans to enhance its product-level carbon emissions data using ABB's smart factory life cycle assessment (LCA) system and pursue emissions reductions in its production processes, energy use, and raw material procurement.

"This verification is an achievement that officially recognizes our ability to manage carbon data in line with global standards," said Park Namwon, head of L&F's Strategy Planning Division. "We will strengthen our product competitiveness by advancing our carbon emissions management and reduction efforts, and contribute to building a sustainable secondary battery supply chain."
