Support to fast-track urban renewal projects
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 11th that it will run the “2026 Urban Renewal Academy for Residents, Session 2” to help residents better understand redevelopment and reconstruction procedures and technical terms.
Starting October 15 and running through November 25, the second Urban Renewal Academy will offer 20 in-person sessions held in districts across the city. The sessions will address residents’ questions through an introduction to urban renewal projects, in-depth lectures on specific topics, and information on the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s support policies for these projects.
Online lectures will be held from December 1 to 16. The lectures will cover topics ranging from the basic concepts of urban renewal projects to Moa Town and Moa Housing, the establishment of residents’ associations, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s support policies. They will be streamed live on YouTube.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government provides information on urban renewal projects in various ways, including the Urban Renewal Academy for Residents, the “Visiting Urban Renewal Residents’ School,” and the YouTube channel “Seoul Jeongbi Go (GO).” It plans to continue providing information so residents can easily check details at each stage of a project and understand their rights and roles in the process.
