The film follows deep-sea fish in an underwater canyon who are curious about the human world. The protagonist, Aelli, is a baby piglet squid who wants to see the sun with her own eyes and dreams of appearing on TV. One day, she finds herself caught up in an unexpected adventure with her friends.

Director Bong is working with production teams from 12 countries, including South Korea, France, and the United Kingdom. He co-wrote the screenplay with director Yoo Jae-sun, who directed “Sleep” (2023).

Hollywood actors Bradley Cooper, Ayo Edebiri, Dave Bautista, and Finn Wolfhard will voice characters in the film. German filmmaker Werner Herzog has also joined the cast.
