[NC] 'ARC Raiders' and 'Lineage' Updates Add More Fun and Adventure
Nexon, NC, Pearl Abyss and Wemade Update Major Titles
Snowfield Dungeon Opens, New Classes Added... "Attracting More Players"
Nexon's 'ARC Raiders,' NC's 'Lineage Remastered' and Pearl Abyss' 'Black Desert' are among the major games that have recently received updates, drawing players' attention.
According to the gaming industry on October 10, Nexon introduced new content for 'ARC Raiders' with the large-scale update 'Frozen New Path' on October 8. In the snowy region of Pendolla Pass, new Arcs with distinct combat styles have appeared. The medium-to-large, four-legged Arc 'Bully' rapidly pursues players and attacks continuously, while 'Skulker' hides from players when hit, then approaches again to attack. The turret-type Arc 'Hydra' threatens players simultaneously with three independently operated gun ports.
The update also added the high-difficulty content 'Fallen Emperor' and 'Frigate.' Fallen Emperor is the first dungeon-style content in 'ARC Raiders.' Players can collect 'Conduit' items in Pendolla Pass, enter the dungeon, and earn rewards by solving various puzzles and mazes. Frigate, a large airborne Arc vessel, offers players the chance to overcome threats and obtain rare items.
The new hub 'Outpost,' which expands Raider progression and customization, can be furnished as a personal space using a variety of modules and furniture. Players can boost the performance of 15 types of weapons through the 'Research Station' inside. The game is free to play through October 12 on Nexon, Steam, PlayStation and Xbox, with a 50% discount available on each platform. From October 13 to 20, PvE matchmaking will also be available for a limited time.
On October 7, NC released the new update 'Golden Desert Abella' for its PC online multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG) 'Lineage Remastered' and added its 13th class, 'Wolyeongsa.' Armed with an exclusive weapon, the chakram, and high mobility, Wolyeongsa is a ranged assassin-type class. Rather than relying on conventional ranged combat, players can freely choose when to engage, evade, pursue or disengage, and directly control the distance of an encounter.
At the heart of Wolyeongsa is the 'Dual Action System.' It lets players use a skill in two stages, with players choosing when to activate the second-stage skill. Even the same skill can enable strategic combat depending on the sequence and timing of its use. Examples include 'Arc Shift,' which moves the character twice, and 'Moon Snare,' which lets players set a trap and detonate it whenever they choose.
The update also added the new territory of 'Abella.' Players can choose where to go based on their goals, including the 'Twilight Mountains,' a hunting ground that grants a growth buff; the 'Forest of Illusions,' a hunting ground that boosts survivability; the 'Underground Waterway of the Tower of Insolence,' a time-limited dungeon; and the 'Tamas Temple,' a dungeon with progression-based rewards. Collecting three types of 'Sacred Stones' obtained in different areas allows players to craft 'Abella's Premium Treasure Pouch.' The 'Abella' specialized server of the same name also has a level 99 cap and restrictions on certain systems, making it easier for new and returning players to get started.
Pearl Abyss recently updated the character-leveling and experience-gain systems in 'Black Desert.' The update reflects details announced at the 'Heidel Ball' held in California, United States, in July. Adventurers who reach level 75 can gain additional attack power and reduced damage from monsters based on their level, in addition to the stats displayed on screen. Pearl Abyss said it adjusted the amount of experience gained at each level range to reflect the higher level cap, and revamped the user interface (UI) for hunting ground information so players can see the experience gained from each monster in each hunting ground as a numerical value.

Wemade added a new class, 'Spiritist,' to 'MIR4.' Wielding a magic wand as its main weapon, the Spiritist uses ranged magic attacks and summons spirits of various elements, including water, fire and earth, for a diverse range of combat. Despite its cute appearance, the class features dazzling, dynamic skill animations that deliver visual excitement and a satisfying sense of impact. In particular, as a 'damage-dealer-type buffer' that boosts allies' combat effectiveness and incapacitates enemies, it plays a key role throughout battles. Wemade also opened 'Deungyongmun,' a server focused on character progression. The server will operate through February 2027.
