Kangwon Land said on October 10 that it is sharing information on illegal gambling games with the National Gambling Control Commission, the Game Rating and Administration Committee, the police and other organizations, and conducting joint crackdowns. Under an agreement with the Army Headquarters Military Police Office, it is also continuing prevention activities targeting military personnel and the public.

For online monitoring, Kangwon Land uses Gamble Tracker, an AI-based system for detecting illegal gambling game websites that it introduced in cooperation with the KAIST Cyber Security Research Center. When the AI identifies websites suspected of offering illegal gambling games and related information online, dedicated personnel review the findings, secure evidence, and report the cases to relevant agencies for blocking.

Offline, Kangwon Land is strengthening its on-site response by conducting joint crackdowns with relevant agencies this year, focusing on nearby communities. It is also carrying out monitoring activities based on reports from the public and online and offline surveillance.

A total of 9,126 people took part in prevention campaigns on seven occasions this year. Of these, 2,631 joined the “Pledge to Help Stamp Out Illegal Gambling Games.”

Kangwon Land also held a joint campaign with the Army Headquarters Military Police Office at the 16th Gyeryong Military Culture Festival, held from October 1 to 5 in and around Gyeryongdae, South Chungcheong Province. The campaign informed military personnel, their families, and other visitors about the risks of illegal gambling games and ran interactive programs to promote healthy leisure activities.

Kangwon Land plans to operate a prevention and awareness booth at G-STAR 2026, a gaming exhibition to be held in Busan this coming November. The booth will inform game users about the risks of illegal gambling games and encourage responsible gaming.

“Illegal online gambling games are evolving rapidly and becoming increasingly sophisticated, so prevention, proactive responses, and close cooperation among relevant agencies are more important than ever,” said Kim Dogyun, CEO of Kangwon Land. “We will continue to strengthen an all-out response system that connects technology and people, as well as online and offline efforts, and take the lead in stamping out illegal gambling games and fostering a healthy leisure culture for the public.”
