Korea Heritage Service to Discuss the Transmission of 'Jang-Making' in Sunchang
Review the Current Status of Preservation and Use, and Explore Ways to Collaborate
The government, private sector and local communities will discuss ways to ensure the sustainable transmission of jang-making.
The Korea Heritage Service will hold a “National Heritage Forum” with the State Governance Research Association of the Korean Association for Public Administration at 3:30 p.m. on October 15 in the conference hall of Sunchang Fermentation Theme Park. The forum will focus on jang-making, a way of life passed down through generations in families and communities. It was designated a National Intangible Heritage in 2018 and inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2024.
