“Many of our achievements and changes have been possible because we worked together with all of you,” Mayor Lee said. “We have worked to improve employees’ working conditions, and we will maintain this approach during the ninth elected administration as well.”
He added, “We will accommodate employees’ suggestions as much as possible to bring about constructive change.”
At the meeting, Mayor Lee explained the status of plans to divide the district, establish new departments and teams, and increase staffing. He also outlined personnel policies, including expanding promotions based on years of service and giving preferential treatment to employees working in disaster response and other demanding departments, as well as plans for employee welfare.
Employees suggested changes to personnel evaluation, support to help new public officials adjust and measures to prevent them from leaving, staffing arrangements to reduce workloads, and an increase in the number of employees eligible for health checkups and the number of institutions where they can receive them. Mayor Lee responded directly to questions submitted in advance and suggestions raised at the meeting.
When neighborhood employees asked for access to training to improve their AI-related work skills, Mayor Lee instructed the relevant departments to “hold training not only at city hall but also at district offices, and compile a list of online courses and notify employees about it.”
