How About Some "Secondhand Trading" This Holiday? ... Bunjangjeol Falls the Day Before Karrot Day
Instant discounts with Safe Payment at "Bunjangjeol" on the first day of the Hangul Day holiday weekend
Free shipping on Buy Now purchases for "Karrot Day" on Oct. 10
A series of events will be held over the Hangul Day holiday weekend to boost secondhand trading. The aim is to spread the value of sustainable consumption by helping people buy what they need at reasonable prices and sell unused items to those who need them.
Bunjang said it will hold its own shopping event, “Bunjangjeol,” for one day on October 9, Hangul Day. Bunjangjeol is a seasonal event named after the service, and the company plans to issue coupons that can be used for one day. The coupons will be applied as instant discounts to the payment amount when users pay through Safe Payment, allowing them to buy items they want at more reasonable prices.
Details of the benefits, including coupon amounts, eligible categories and terms of use, will be announced separately. On the day of the event, Bunjang will feature popular trading categories on the Bunjangjeol page, including digital products, fashion, jewelry, kidult goods and trading cards.
Earlier, Karrot, a local community platform, designated October 10 as “Karrot Day,” the biggest secondhand trading day of the year. For the first Karrot Day, the company will offer free shipping on items purchased through its “Buy Now” service. Introduced in September last year, Buy Now is a parcel-trading service that enables users to complete the process from payment to delivery in one place through secure payment. CJ Logistics handles parcel deliveries: sellers can schedule a pickup for their preferred date, pack the item and leave it at their door, after which a courier picks it up and delivers it to the buyer’s preferred location.
On October 10, Karrot will cover the full shipping fee for users who purchase items through Buy Now, up to five times per person. The benefit will be applied automatically at checkout, with no need to download a coupon or select an option. The same benefit will be available nationwide, including Jeju and island and remote areas, without regional surcharges.
As a result, users will be able to purchase a wide range of items listed through Buy Now from across the country without paying shipping fees. These include low-priced items such as household goods and stationery, for which shipping costs can be a burden, as well as items that are usually hard to find in their neighborhoods.
