SK Group Chairman Chey Taewon to Visit Gwangju Military Airport's "Semiconductor Site" on Oct. 9
Chey Taewon, chairman of SK Group, will visit Gwangju Military Airport, the site of the Honam semiconductor cluster, on October 9. It will be his first visit to the site since the project was launched.
According to the Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City on October 8, Chey and SK hynix executives will visit the site within the military airport designated for the relocation of ammunition depots on the afternoon of October 9.
A semiconductor fabrication plant (FAB) operated by SK hynix is scheduled to be built on the site. Chey is expected to tour the site in person and assess conditions there.
Min Hyung-bae, mayor of Jeonnam-Gwangju, will also attend the visit. He is expected to discuss key issues with Chey, including the progress of the military airport relocation, securing infrastructure such as electricity and water, and permits and approvals.
