All of Seongsu-dong Becomes a Festival Venue... 'Creative X Seongsu' Through Oct. 11
Opening ceremony and themed exhibition begin October 8
Programs span 13 fields
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Yoo Bohwa), announced on October 8 that it will hold the cultural and creative industry festival "2026 Creative X Seongsu" in the Seongsu-dong area through October 11. The festival, which began on October 5, will hold its opening ceremony at 6 p.m. on October 8.
The festival is planned and run by cultural and creative companies in Seongdong-gu, with support from Seongdong-gu and the Seongdong Cultural Foundation. According to the district, attendance grew from about 50,000 in the festival's first year, 2023, to about 160,000 in 2024 and 230,000 last year.
This year's theme is "CREATIVE METAMORPHOSIS," and the festival features programs in 13 fields. The district has revamped this year's program lineup. The "CT Fair (Cultural and Creative Industry Fair)," held through last year, has been restructured as a "Themed Exhibition." The exhibition will be open free of charge at S Factory Building D from October 8 to 11. Eight exhibitions are on display, including "City Palimpsest," where visitors select text on an old map to see a 3D video of what that location looks like today. The outdoor performance exhibition "Seongsu Spectacula 2026" will also be held.
Talks and investment attraction programs, previously held separately by field, have been combined into the "Summit (Conference & Pitch)." The Summit will feature conferences in seven fields and pitches in five fields at the same venue over the same period. At the webtoon pitch, aspiring artists will present their work to representatives from platforms and agencies, including Kakao Entertainment and KidariStudio. Outstanding participants will have opportunities to have their work considered for serialization and to connect with potential employers.
Street programs will also continue. "Play Seongsu," an urban escape-room game that drew about 11,000 participants last year, will run throughout the festival. On October 10, the "Fashion Seongsu" high school fashion show and "Music Seongsu" performances will be held on sections of Seongsui-ro. That same day, a concert featuring Lee Kichan, Transfixion and others will take place in front of Exit 3 of Seongsu Station. The Bridge Festival will run from October 10 to 11 around Seoul Forest Road and Ttukseom Station. Other programs include an art fair, restaurant discounts, beauty pop-ups, a craft market and film screenings. Super Junior's Leeteuk is serving as ambassador for the third consecutive year.
