Unison Joins K-GX National Strategy Briefing, Embarks on Green Transition
Wind turbine specialist Unison is pursuing a green transition through investment in the offshore wind sector.
Unison said on October 8 that it had participated as a wind power company in the public briefing on the “Korean Green Transformation (K-GX) Strategy,” held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry on October 7.
The briefing was organized to inform the public about the government’s K-GX strategy and private-sector investment plans, and to advance the green transition as a national growth strategy. The event was attended by government officials, business organizations, experts, and major companies selected to help foster the country’s 10 flagship green industries, including Hanwha Qcells, POSCO Holdings, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, and Unison. The government announced plans to provide support worth 1 quadrillion won over the next 10 years, including through public funding and climate finance, while the private sector plans to pursue K-GX signature projects worth 220 trillion won.
In offshore wind, participating companies, including Unison, are pursuing private-sector investments totaling about 2.85 trillion won. Unison will take part in a project to build an end-to-end offshore wind supply chain as part of the K-GX signature projects.
