National Assembly Political Affairs Committee Adds Heads of Five Major Banks as Audit Witnesses Over "Financial Sector Hacking Incident"

The National Assembly Political Affairs Committee on October 8 additionally adopted the heads of five major banks as witnesses for a parliamentary audit, in connection with a series of recent personal data breaches at banks.
Before the parliamentary audit began that day, the committee held a plenary meeting and approved a motion to adopt Lee Hwanju of KB Kookmin Bank, Jeong Sanghyeok of Shinhan Bank, Lee Hoseong of Hana Bank, Jeong Jinwan of Woori Bank, and Kang Taeyoung of NH Nonghyup Bank as witnesses.
They are expected to attend the Financial Supervisory Service’s parliamentary audit scheduled for October 19 and answer questions about the circumstances and causes of recent large-scale personal data breaches at banks, as well as measures to prevent them from happening again.
