Quantum Rail Forms Dedicated Team to Develop Next-Generation Quantum Security Solutions
Quantum Rail has formed a dedicated team to develop next-generation quantum security solutions.
According to Quantum Rail on October 8, the team includes developers formerly with the National Security Research Institute and experts from the financial and security industries. The team will combine existing USIM and authentication technologies with blockchain, zero-knowledge proofs, and post-quantum cryptography to develop three product lines: QProof, QTrust, and QSim.
QProof is an authentication solution that minimizes the disclosure of personal information while verifying only the information required, such as whether a person's name matches and the status of a mobile line. Drawing on its experience in USIM-based identity verification, the company plans to integrate the solution with telecom operators and identity verification services, and expand its application to non-face-to-face financial services.
QTrust verifies the origin of data generated by Internet of Things (IoT) devices and measuring instruments, as well as whether the data has been falsified or tampered with. It aims to enhance security for telecom operators' IoT services, public measurement networks, and energy and industrial facilities by applying blockchain-based verification and history management features, along with post-quantum cryptography.
QSim is a USIM and facility security module that applies post-quantum cryptography and is based on the company's proprietary USIM operating system (COS). It will be developed in various forms, including embedded modules and portable USB storage devices, and will protect in hardware the cryptographic keys used for authentication and electronic signatures.
Quantum Rail will pursue product testing and commercialization by leveraging its existing USIM and security solutions, authentication services, and customer base among domestic telecom operators. It is considering software licensing; implementation and operations services; security services linked to IoT lines; and the supply of security modules for facilities. For the public sector, development will proceed in stages, taking into account relevant requirements, including the Korea Cryptographic Module Validation Program (KCMVP).
