Trump, Known for Luxury Suits, Wears a "Midrange Suit"?... Debate Over Chinese Origin, Too

Some wonder, "Why did he choose an inexpensive import?"
U.S. President Donald Trump has drawn attention for wearing a suit from a relatively affordable brand at a midterm election campaign rally, instead of the expensive suits he usually favors.
Suit's inner label revealed... Jos. A. Bank
According to the U.S. current affairs magazine Newsweek and other outlets on October 7 (local time), President Trump turned out the inside of his suit jacket at a campaign rally in Grand Island, Nebraska, on October 5. During the event, cameras captured a "Jos. A. Bank" label sewn inside the jacket.
Jos. A. Bank is a brand under men's apparel retailer Tailored Brands and was founded in Maryland in 1905. The brand sells suits across a range of price points, from models priced at $149.99 (about 201,000 won) to relatively high-end options costing $700 (about 940,000 won).
It has not been confirmed exactly which suit President Trump was wearing at the time. However, its price range differs considerably from that of Brioni, the Italian luxury brand President Trump is known to favor. Brioni suits sell for about $5,500 (about 7.37 million won) to more than $16,000 (about 21.44 million won).
President Trump received sponsorship from Brioni when he hosted the reality TV show "The Apprentice" in the 2000s and is known to have continued wearing the brand's suits afterward.
"Made in China instead of America?"... Debate over where Trump's suit was made

Some of the brand's suits are reportedly manufactured overseas, including in China and Bangladesh, prompting criticism that this may run counter to President Trump's policy agenda, which has emphasized revitalizing domestic manufacturing. President Trump has pursued policies such as imposing tariffs on imports to expand production in the United States.
Menswear writer Derek Guy wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Interesting. All Jos. A. Bank suits are made overseas, usually in countries like China or Bangladesh," adding, "I wonder why Trump chose an inexpensive imported suit instead of one made in America."
