The Cheongna AIDC will be built with two underground floors and 11 above-ground floors. Construction will begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2030.

KT Cloud is participating as a design, build, and operate (DBO) partner in this project, undertaking responsibilities ranging from data center design consulting, major facility works (MEP), and reliability and operations verifications (commissioning), through to future operations. The co-constructor, Hyundai Engineering, will handle architecture, civil engineering, facilities, landscaping, and communication works.

The Cheongna AIDC will feature a hybrid data hall structure, which can accommodate both an "AI Zone" based on direct-to-chip cooling (D2C) for high-density GPU server operations, and a "Cloud Zone" for general-purpose cloud services. KT Cloud will also deploy its proprietary integrated management solution "DIMS." With this, the company plans to flexibly address a variety of customer infrastructure needs and provide a stable service environment.

KT Cloud aims to expand its Cheongna AIDC supply capacity to over 1GW by 2031, strengthening network continuity among major data centers in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Gasan and Mokdong. In regions outside the metropolitan area, the company will establish large-scale AIDCs in locations such as Gunsan, expanding the infrastructure nationwide. KT Cloud explained that the Cheongna AIDC can be reached within one hour from major business areas in Seoul and is located near the airport, making it an attractive site for domestic and international IT companies.

Bonggyun Kim, CEO of KT Cloud, stated, "The Cheongna AIDC will serve as a key hub in the western cluster of the Seoul metropolitan area and will effectively meet the needs of domestic and global corporate clients requiring large-scale AI infrastructure. We will continue to expand the AIDC supply base in both the metropolitan and non-metropolitan areas and realize our goal of 1GW AIDC supply based on differentiated technical capabilities."
