Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Shin Sang-jin) announced on October 7 that it will be accepting applications for the second half of the year for its Industrial Accident Insurance Premium Support Project, targeting vulnerable workers such as labor service providers and artists, from October 12 to 23.

The city will support 90% of the worker’s share of industrial accident insurance premiums within the monthly maximum support limit for each occupation.
Labor service providers are workers previously referred to as "workers in special types of employment," who, unlike regular employees, each pay half of their industrial accident insurance premiums together with their employers. To ease the burden of insurance premiums and encourage enrollment in industrial accident insurance, the city operates its own support program for these workers.
The supported occupations include insurance planners, construction equipment operators, visiting instructors, golf course caddies, parcel delivery drivers, loan solicitors, credit card member recruiters, door-to-door salespersons, home appliance rental product inspectors, home appliance installation and repair technicians, software engineers, after-school instructors, tourism interpreters, and school bus drivers for children, among others.
Delivery workers, substitute drivers, and truck owners are excluded from this Seongnam City support project. However, they may receive support for 80% of their share of industrial accident insurance premiums through the Platform Worker Industrial Accident Insurance Premium Support Project of Gyeonggi Job Foundation.
Applications can be submitted via email, fax, or registered mail, or by visiting the Employment Division on the 7th floor of Seongnam City Hall. Application forms and required documents are available in the "Notices" or "Announcements" sections of the City Hall website.
