He commented, “Next year, we need to introduce new elements, such as programs that utilize various city mascots.”

The meeting also covered the “2026 Local Government Innovation Assessment Implementation Plan.” Each year, the government evaluates 243 local governments on areas such as communication and participation with residents, public-private cooperation, the use of AI and digital technologies to improve community services, and closing gaps in administrative services.
Mayor Lee highlighted the importance of administration that citizens can truly experience, as shown through events like the parent communication roundtables, resident meetings, and the public-private partnership safety culture meetings.
He stated, “Proactive administration is not about words, but action,” and urged, “All public officials should dedicate themselves to active public service that citizens can feel, and also fully commit to the local government innovation evaluation.”
He further emphasized the importance of identifying and actively promoting innovative projects suited to Yongin’s characteristics to generate results that citizens can experience firsthand.
The meeting also addressed topics including the 8th Yongin Central Market Starlight Night Market, the Green Eco Park development project, expanding barrier-free transportation and support for mobility-impaired individuals, the Gimnyangjang and Singal Five-Way festivals, and the current progress of the farmland survey in Cheoin District.
Regarding the farmland survey in Cheoin District, Mayor Lee requested that officials, “Incorporate the various opinions emerging on-site to research improvements and formulate requests to the central government as needed.”
