This support initiative aims both to enhance the mobility of resources in the social welfare field and to improve the local air environment by promoting the spread of eco-friendly vehicles.
Attending the ceremony were Jeong Myeong-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong; Ha Heon-jae, Executive Director at Samsung Electronics DS Division; Kim Hyo-jin, Secretary General of the Community Chest of Gyeonggi Province; and the heads of the beneficiary welfare facilities.
The institutions receiving vehicles are LH Haengbok Kkumteo Nanum Community Children Center, Hwaseong City Disabled Children Rehabilitation Center, Angel’s Home, and Haedream Dalgrim Sheltered Workshop.
The eco-friendly vehicle support program is operated with funds raised through the voluntary "Love Walking Campaign" donations by Samsung Electronics DS Division employees, using those funds to purchase vehicles which are then distributed via a public selection process to social welfare organizations. From 2023 through this year, a total of 20 vehicles have been donated as part of this initiative.
The city expects that this support will improve transportation convenience for users of welfare facilities and enhance access to welfare services for vulnerable groups.
