The Wando County Council in Jeonnam-Gwangju Special City has begun on-site, hands-on inspections to strengthen the substance of the marine healing industry and seek sustainable development strategies.
The Special Committee on the Status of the Marine Healing Industry of Wando County Council announced on the 6th that it had made an on-site inspection of the Marine Healing Center, a core facility, on the 2nd, where they checked its operational status and explored directions for future development.

On site, alongside members of the Special Committee, six external advisors specializing in tourism, management, accounting, marketing, architecture, and facilities also participated, serving to heighten professionalism. The advisors carried out rigorous verification of actual operations on site, building on suggestions previously provided in writing.
After receiving an operational status report, the Special Committee examined key facilities in detail, carefully checking the operation of each facility, visitor flow, and the frameworks of program management.
The inspection focused on several main areas: the efficient use of facilities and equipment; enhancing the operational effectiveness and competitiveness of marine healing programs; improving visitor convenience and service; boosting profitability and building a sustainable management system; and developing promotional and marketing strategies linked to local tourism resources.
During the on-site meeting, advisors from each field presented numerous recommendations for invigorating the business based on their professional perspectives. Attendees held active discussions on ways to maximize the competitiveness of the Marine Healing Center to substantially contribute to local economic revitalization and the tourism industry.
Special Committee Chairperson Park Byungsoo emphasized, "As the marine healing industry is a core project that Wando County has strategically pursued, it is necessary to closely examine issues and areas for improvement observed directly in the field. This on-site inspection was meaningful in that it allowed us to verify realities and seek concrete alternatives that cannot be grasped through mere reports or statistics."
He further added, "We will thoroughly review the findings from the site and the professional opinions of advisors, and develop practical policy and institutional improvement measures so the marine healing industry can grow more stably and sustainably."
