Series Ventures Makes Seed Investment in K-Content AI Video Generator "The Manta Story"
Southeast region-specialized accelerator Series Ventures has completed its initial investment in The Manta Story.
On October 6, Series Ventures announced that it had completed a seed investment in The Manta Story, a company developing a Korean AI video generation engine for long-form commercial video production.
The Manta Story's proprietary AI video generation engine, "theROAD", enables scenario input, AI image generation, and video sequence linking—automating visual effects (VFX) processes that previously required dozens of people working for months. According to The Manta Story, production time and costs have reportedly been reduced by up to 70%.
The Manta Story possesses 25 years of production expertise, having participated in the VFX work for films such as "Train to Busan", "Peninsula", and "JUNG_E", as well as holding seven patents related to AI and digital twins. Leveraging its base at the Busan AI Tech Studio, the company has formed an industry-academia partnership with Dongseo University to nurture regional talent and deploy them in production settings. Their goal is to expand their already validated AI production workflow from short-form videos to long-form content such as films and drama series.
