The album includes a total of 12 tracks, including the title track "Pedazos." Yesung participated in writing the lyrics for nine songs and composing one track, and he took on the challenge of directing the album himself. He also personally took some of the photos included in the portrait version.
Through his agency, Yesung said, "At first, I thought the 10th anniversary would be a moment to be celebrated, but as I prepared the album, I came to realize that these ten years are not mine alone," adding, "This album was made to express my gratitude to everyone who has been with me."
The title track "Pedazos" is a modern rock song that captures the emotions left after a breakup. The title means "broken pieces" in Spanish. Yesung explained, "It starts off calmly but grows increasingly intense," adding, "I wanted to convey the notion that multiple emotions inevitably coexist in life."
He recalled, "During a time when I was struggling, I first heard the song in a taxi on a sunny day and thought, 'I’ve finally found my title track.' Right after that, I received news that my mother was unwell, and a mix of excitement, worry, and fear swept over me all at once." He continued, "Because this song brings together the various emotions I felt that day, it resembles who I am now in many ways."
Reflecting on the music he has released over the past ten years, Yesung stated his intent to continually seek out his own musical style. He said, "I want to sing until the very last moment of my life," and added, "Rather than trying to define my music as one thing, I want to keep asking myself, 'What is my music?' as I search for the answer."
Following the album release, he will kick off his solo debut 10th-anniversary Asia tour, 'ABOUT THE THINGS WE CALLED ORDINARY.' The first performance will take place at KBS Arena in Seoul from October 16 to 18, after which he will visit eight regions across Asia.
Yesung said, "I hope each concert will evolve a little as I meet fans and that we can complete the performance together," adding, "I am preparing to speak and sing in several languages myself."
