During the event, Estraffic conducted business discussions with major public transportation authorities and industry stakeholders from the United States and Canada, confirming the potential to expand in the North American market. Based on its experience and operational expertise in deploying AFC systems in the U.S., the company plans to pursue new contracts while also expanding into operation and maintenance (O&M) work, with the goal of establishing a long-term business foundation.
Estraffic has already deployed AFC systems at 26 stations for LA Metro in the United States and has recently secured an operation and maintenance contract as well. Through this contract, the company has established a full-cycle business model that provides ongoing maintenance and performance improvement services after system delivery. Leveraging this experience, Estraffic aims to broaden its cooperation with major North American transit agencies, secure new project contracts, and link them with long-term O&M work to build a stable revenue structure.
Currently, Estraffic is also participating in the next-generation faregate project led by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the largest public transit agency in the United States. The company is piloting AI-based anti-fare evasion gates at New York subway stations, where its technology is being validated. This is expected to lead to further opportunities to secure major AFC project contracts in the future. Based on the results of the pilot program, the MTA is now pursuing an expansion of the next-generation faregate project.
