Through this agreement, the two companies will collaborate to jointly develop an ultra-light EO/IR module for swarm drones by combining LK Samyang's optical technology with Daon I&C's AI and swarm flight technology. LK Samyang will be responsible for developing the ultra-light IR lens and domestic IR camera module, while Daon I&C will integrate its AI-based object recognition and IR image synchronization technology for swarm flight.
Daon I&C is a specialized swarm drone company that has developed drone aircraft, domestic flight controllers (FC), AI-based integrated flight and mission control systems, on-device AI, swarm control software, and integrated control systems, based on more than 10 years of accumulated swarm flight technology.
For small swarm drone EO/IR modules, reducing the size and weight of the optical module compared to conventional drone modules is essential. Through this joint development, the two companies aim to create lightweight modules that meet these integration requirements and secure optical solutions tailored for small swarm drones.
LK Samyang has decided to supply its self-developed wide-angle camera modules (EO modules) to drone companies that were selected this year for the Ministry of National Defense's commercial drone procurement project and is currently producing and delivering the modules. Through the joint development of this ultra-light IR module, the company plans to expand its lineup of drone optical modules from EO modules to IR modules and strengthen its business competitiveness in the drone and defense sectors.
