The supplied solution is optimized for SDVs, featuring high-performance computing and a centralized software architecture that enables integrated vehicle control. Traditional vehicles operated dozens of electronic control units (ECUs) for each function—such as cockpit, driving assistance, and powertrain—independently. In contrast, LG Electronics' integrated cockpit centrally controls both the instrument cluster, which displays speed, revolutions per minute (RPM), and warning lights, and the infotainment system, which supports navigation, media playback, and more. This creates an intuitive and unified user experience (UX) and user interface (UI), organically presenting a wide range of information to improve visibility for users. Automakers can also reduce production costs through simplified components and optimized design.
Another key feature is the ability to continuously upgrade advanced functions—such as artificial intelligence (AI)-based features—through over-the-air software updates.
LG Electronics’ ability to offer advanced SDV-customized solutions stems from its accumulated expertise in manufacturing, UX, and UI, gathered through years of experience in TVs, home appliances, and mobile devices, as well as its longstanding partnership with Renault Group. LG Electronics was recognized as an outstanding supplier by Renault Group in 2014, 2017, and 2020, and since 2021, the two companies have jointly developed an Android-based in-vehicle infotainment system, maintaining a close cooperative relationship for more than ten years.
In addition to Renault Group, LG Electronics is expanding its partnerships with major global automakers in North America, Asia, and elsewhere, aiming to position itself as a trusted supplier in the rapidly growing SDV electronics market.
