"5,000-Won Seamless Bra"... Lotte Mart Targets Value-for-Money Market with Fixed-Price Underwear
Underwear Sales Up 5%,
Lowering Price Burden with Everyday Essentials
Seven Types Including Seamless Bras for 5,000 Won and Men's Boxer Briefs for 3,000 Won Introduced
As high inflation persists, value-for-money consumption focusing on price-to-performance ratio is spreading even in daily necessities. In response, Lotte Mart has introduced reasonably priced underwear, reducing the burden on customers.
According to the "September Consumer Price Trend" report released by the Ministry of Data and Statistics on October 6, 2026, the consumer price index last month was 120.43, up 2.9% year-on-year. The cost of living index, which reflects the perception of inflation by focusing on frequently purchased items, also rose by 2.5%.
Due to this ongoing inflation, sales of Lotte Mart's underwear category from January to September this year increased by approximately 5% compared to the previous year.
To address this, starting October 1, Lotte Mart has been offering seven types of fixed-price underwear at all of its stores. The main products, "Women's Seamless Bra (shoulder strap type/strapless type)," are offered at 5,000 won each, and "Men's Boxer Briefs" at 3,000 won. In addition, "Women's Hem Panties," "Vivian No Pressure Lace Panties," and "Head Men's Trunks" are available for 3,000 won each, while the "Head Running Shirt" is offered at 5,000 won.
This new range focuses on daily-wear, frequently replaced underwear. Prices are set uniformly per item, without bundle giveaways or credit card discounts, allowing customers to purchase reasonably regardless of payment method or quantity.
The Women's Seamless Bra is about 50% cheaper than existing branded products and comes in two styles: shoulder strap type and strapless type. It features a thin and soft texture with elasticity, and its wire-free design offers comfort. The Men's Boxer Briefs have an outer band style, while the Head Men's Trunks use 98% cotton material with a yarn-dyed check pattern.
Lotte Mart is also expanding its value-for-money apparel through its private brand (PB) "Oneul Joheun." The "Oneul Joheun X Vivian Warm-Up Turtleneck" is priced at 9,900 won, and the "Oneul Joheun Heat Men's and Women's Underwear Set" is offered at 12,900 won each.
