The event is hosted by Yongin City and jointly organized by the Yongin Cultural Foundation and the Shingal Urban Regeneration Field Support Center.
The festival venue will be set up along the section from Giheunggyo to Galcheongyo on Shingalcheon. There will be street performances, cultural and art experiences, urban regeneration achievement exhibitions, a children's flea market, and food booths. Starting at 5 p.m., a commemorative ceremony and celebratory performances by singers Ali and Shin Yongjae will take place, along with various other programs.
The festival will also offer participatory programs for children and families. These include the "Creative Art Wall" where participants can draw freely on a large canvas; "Giant Puppet Baekdu," featuring life-sized puppets interacting with visitors; and the "Children’s Flea Market," where children can act as vendors. Four hands-on programs will also be available: making LED bulb balls, 'Molang-i' squishy toys, wind chimes, and autumn-themed frames.
Throughout Shingalcheon, participating artists in the "I’m Busker" street performance support program, run by the Yongin Cultural Foundation, will present instrumental music, traditional performances, magic, and other acts. The program lineup also includes "Youth Busker" artists consisting of teenagers and young adults, a Nanta (percussive performance) by students from Shared School at Yongin Office of Education, a musical performance by Dankook University musical majors, and appearances by local community culture clubs.
Local community groups nurtured and developed through the urban regeneration project will also take part. "Shingalimdang" will run chewy ball-making workshops using coffee grounds, while "Galnae Village Docents" will offer color-in postcard activities inspired by the village. "Gugak Inside" will present a lion mask paper doll-making activity and a traditional farmers’ band parade.
The Shingal Urban Regeneration Field Support Center will set up an exhibition space to showcase the accomplishments of both the urban regeneration project and the smart urban regeneration project. Food booths and food trucks run by local merchants, as well as a picnic zone, will also be available. The city intends to make the festival eco-friendly by promoting multi-use containers to reduce single-use waste.
