Gwanak District Opens Dedicated "Seoul Physical Fitness Test" Center at Health Center
Linked with Metabolic Syndrome Management
Gwanak District in Seoul, led by Mayor Joonhee Park, opened the city’s first dedicated "Seoul Physical Fitness Test" center at the Gwanak District Health Center on October 2, 2026. The Seoul Physical Fitness Test center is located on the second floor of the Gwanak District Health Center in the Bongcheon area. This marks the district’s second base for physical fitness management, following the opening of the Gwanak Fitness Certification Center in the Sillim area in the first half of this year. The new facility allows for comprehensive services—from assessments to consultations—all in one place, linking with metabolic syndrome management. New equipment for senior citizens’ fitness assessments has also been newly installed.

The assessment items cover body measurements such as Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure, and body composition, as well as health-related fitness like muscular strength, cardiorespiratory endurance, and flexibility, along with functional abilities such as agility and explosive power. After the evaluation, individuals receive personalized consultations and guidance on exercise methods suited to their fitness level.
All Gwanak residents and Seoul citizens aged 19 and over can use the center free of charge. Reservations can be made through the "Sonmuk Doctor 9988" app from 1:00 p.m. on the 1st and 16th of every month. If space remains, phone reservations or walk-in visits on the same day are also available. Participants must bring an ID card, exercise clothes, and indoor training shoes, and arrive at least 10 minutes before their scheduled time. For inquiries, contact the Seoul Physical Fitness Test Gwanak District Health Center (02-879-4545) or the Gwanak Fitness Certification Center (02-6953-9890).
The district office plans to expand its services by establishing an artificial intelligence (AI)-based fitness measurement zone, which will offer analysis of posture, gait, and running motions. Additionally, it will further strengthen the fitness management system in connection with the health center.
