"Selection of 'Assassin(s)' as Opening Film Should Be Withdrawn"... People Power Party to Send Letter to Singapore Film Festival
On October 4, the People Power Party announced that it would send a letter, in the name of all its members of the National Assembly, requesting the Singapore International Film Festival to withdraw its selection of "Assassin(s)" as the opening film.
Chief Spokesperson Choi Boyoon told reporters at the National Assembly that Assemblyman Joo Jinwoo had already sent a letter in his personal capacity, but as more lawmakers expressed interest in joining, the party leadership was preparing related procedures at the floor level.

In addition, the People Power Party continued its criticisms regarding "Assassin(s)." Assembly member Na Kyungwon, through social networking services, criticized, "Naver reportedly requested a police investigation into alleged 'macro manipulation' after changing the review board of the immoral film 'Assassin(s)' to display the most recent posts. Now they make the flimsy excuse that this is why the order was changed to most recent."
On the same day, Assemblyman Joo also held a press conference at the National Assembly, stating, "KDB Industrial Bank and Industrial Bank of Korea indirectly invested 14.2 billion won in the production company of 'Assassin(s),'" and urged an immediate withdrawal of the investment.
